Hiába töröm a fejem, nem tudok olyan 2013-as magyar vöröset felidézni, ami igazán tetszett volna (egyébként 2015-öst sem nagyon). Szekszárdot eső áztatta a szeptemberi szüret idején, és ezzel elúszott a jó évjárat esélye, ezért nem számítottam arra, hogy Vidáéknál lesz La Vida. I’m not sure I’ve tasted a single Hungarian red from 2013 that I was happy with (or for that matter from 2015). I know that in Szekszárd it was long spells of rain in September that ruined an otherwise promising vintage so I wasn’t really expecting the Vidas to come out with their top wine. Szekszárd Grand? Mi ez? Kinek? Miért? Ez az első évjárat, és én úgy sejtem, hogy az álmok álmodói az XXXL-es cabernet-k luxus szanatóriumának szánhatták. “Szekszárd Grand, what’s that?”, I hear you asking. It’s a new category which was probably dreamed up as some sort of glorified outlet for top quality cabernets produced in Szekszárd. I don’t think it’s a particularly good idea or that it will be a long-lived one. However the Heimann Szekszárd Grand is a huge wine which might even prove to be great in the long run.
